Areas and Companions Elder Greenlaw Has Served With

December 9, 2015

I have been transferred to Waycross, Georgia. My new companion is Elder Robert Anderson is a stud! He's from Riverton, Utah. I get another close one! He's been out for just over a year now. He is a humble, obedient, and faithful guy, I am real happy that I am with him.

I have been assigned to serve with Elder Conner Andersen from Draper Utah!! He graduated from Alta a year after me. He then went to SUU for a year and then came out on his mission. He was a track star and has done 3 triathlons. Holy smokes! He's a stud, a little more quiet than my last companion, but that's alright. He hasn't been out too long on his mission. 4 1/2 months to be exact.

I have been assigned to serve with Elder Dean in the Lake Butler, Florida area. He is from Highland, Utah and lives within walking distance from Timpanogas Temple. He is awesome! He is 20 years old, went to BYU for a few years, and wants to become a doctor. He is really charismatic, humble, and faithful and we get along great.

I'm serving with Elder Lewis! He was in my last District, serving in the neighboring area of Fleming Island. We've gone on a few trade offs and really enjoy each other.

Elder Greenlaw got transferred back to Gainesville, Florida. His new companion is Elder Tuft from Casper Wyoming. Elder Tuft only has a few months left on his mission. He served as AP to President Craig a few months back.

Elder Greenlaw is still serving in Fleming Island, Florida. His new companion is Elder Braiz Huxford, "We have known each other for a while now. Back in the good old days, when I use to be skinny, we played intense basketball every P-day in Gainesville! He comes from the great city of Las Vegas. His original call was to Belen, Brazil but he's been waiting for his visa for 7 1/2 months now... Poor guy. His last area was in Chiefland, Florida. It doesn't get any more southern than that."

Time to shed off that extra weight and get swoll at the gym :)

Elder Greenlaw was transferred to Fleming Island, Florida. His new companion is J. Johnson. He is from Spokane Washington. Elder J. Johnson has only been out a few month later than Elder Greenlaw, so they are both excited to work hard in this new area.

Elder Greenlaw was made a trainer again to a "greenie" name Elder Anderson. Elder Anderson is from Logan Utah. He is 6'4, 250 pounds and is going to be playing football for Utah State when he is done with his mission. Elder Greenlaw said that Elder Anderson wants to work. He is thankful to have such a wonderful companion. They will be serving in the same area in Gainesville until Elder Anderson is done training.

After Elder Greenlaw's companion went home he was put into a trio companionship. This really helped pick up Elder Greenlaw's spirits. He will find out in a week if he is staying in Gainesville or getting transferred.

Elder Greenlaw was made a trainer again to an elder that has been out a few months. His name is Elder Welsch.  After a few weeks, Elder Welsch decided he wanted to go home too. This really was a setback for Elder Greenlaw. He really liked this companion and was hoping he would stay.

After Elder Greenlaw was done training, he was made a trainer. His first companion was Elder Tubbs from Utah. He was only with this elder for a few days before Elder Tubbs decided to go home.

Elder Greenlaw is currently serving in the Gainsville Florida Area. Gainsville has about 125,000 people living there. It is home to the University of Florida, the largest and oldest university in the state. Gainesville is the hub of education, and culture perhaps due to its student population. The average temperature in Gainsville in March/April is high 70's to low 80's. Gainsville was ranked as one of the "best places to live and play" in the US by National Geographic Adventure. There are a lot of lakes in the Gainesville area, in fact, most homes in Gainesville, are close to a lake. Gainsville is also known for its music and has been home to many famous musicians including Tom Petty and the Heart Breakers.

Elder Greenlaw's companion in Gainesville is Elder Jenkins. He is from Pleasant Grove, Utah. He is 6'4 and 280 lbs. Elder Greenlaw's companion in the MTC was also tall. He feels like he keeps getting put with these big companions so he can swallow his pride and have them show him who's boss. :) Elder Jenkins is 19 years old, and just finished training as a new missionary. He is going to play football after his mission for Utah State. Elder Greenlaw prayed for an amazing companion who is a hard worker and strictly obedient, and that is exactly what he got. They have a lot of fun together and make each other laugh.

Elder Greenlaw is currently training in the MTC in Provo Utah. He has a three way companionship right now. His first companion is Elder Ciavardini from Alberta Canada. He was a professional snow boarder before serving a mission. He will be serving in the Salt Lake City mission after his training. His other companion is Elder Williams from Orem Utah. He lived 5 minutes away from the MTC. He had to travel far to go to the MTC. He will be going to the Florida - Jacksonville mission with Elder Greenlaw.
